The BiRotor
meter is a positive displacement volume flowmeter, which uses two
finely balanced contra-rotating rotors driven by the liquid flow,
sweeping a defined volume of fluid with each rotation. The
Automatic Pressure Lubricated (APL) version is designed to
measure low lubricity fluids such as propane, butane, or natural
gasoline, or where abrasive particles are entrained in the flow
as occurs with crude oil.
A sealed lubricating system isolates all bearings and gears from
the process stream and provides long service life.
Electronic P Series meters feature a sealed measuring chamber
with a reluctance type measuring sensor. A second optional sensor
is available to allow dual pulses that are 90 degrees out of
phase. The electronic pulses can transmit the rotation count away
from the meter, from a pre-amplifier, or register on a locally
mounted electronic totaliser system, as required.
BiRotor meters are used in the most demanding applications in the
petroleum industry, where ruggedness, accuracy and long life are
important. |
